Since 1914, Beyer Bros. has been driven to help people obtain reliable transportation, first with bicycles, then with trucks. The family-owned truck and automobile dealership corporation, located in Fairview, N.J., celebrated its 100th anniversary in business in 2014. Beyer Bros. Corporation and Emil A. Beyer, chief executive officer, received awards from the American Truck Historical Society (ATHS) for more than 50 years in business.
Al Beyer opened a bicycle repair shop with his brother in Fort Lee, N.J. in 1914. The brothers soon transitioned to truck repair. Emil started as a mechanic's assistant in 1952 and acquired a GMC truck franchise for Beyer Brothers in 1963. The dealership moved to Fairview in 1978. Beyer's "can-do" attitude has enabled the industry to move forward without forgetting its roots.
Today, Beyer Brothers Corp. operates Oshkosh, GMC, Volvo, Ford, and Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep dealerships in a three-state area in the Northeast.
